Need help with clutch replacement fast!

Hey all, I'm replacing the clutch in my 90 v6 4x4 pickup today. I've done tons of clutches but never one on a toyota yet. Enything special I should know before I begin or just go for it? How long should it take for someone that has done several clutches but not a toyota v6? It's a 5 speed, I can't immagine it being too much different than any other, just asking before I get started. A time frame would be a good indicator for me at least, step by step instructions would be good if anyone has them. Thanks. Going for it in a couple of hours.

Nothing real special about it, I unbolted drive shaft from tail, removed the 4 small bolts that attached the transmission to to the cross member. Removed the shifters from inside the cab so you can slide the transmission back. Unbolt the starter, and clutch slave, unhook your o2 sensor and where it attaches to the trans housing so you have some slack. Unbolt the front drive shaft from the transfercase, then remove the bolts around the bell housing, don't forget the one on top that's a PITA to get to, use alot of extensions for that one. Then you should be able to slide it all back with the help of a transmission jack (bought one from harbor freight). I,ve done just the clutch replacement in as few as a couple hours. Couple things to keep in mind that might complicate things are if you need a new rear main seal while your there. Also check make sure you flywheel is in good condition, if not get it resurfaced, or get a new one. Check your shifter bushing too while you have the shifters out, the factory bushing that mates against the sphere part of the shifter is usally totally gone. Marlin crawler sells a good replacement. I'm sure there are some details I may have left out, hopefully someone can chime in and fill those details in.

Good Luck

Download the FSM for 93; it will tell you everything you need to know.

Make sure you replace the PILOT BEARING. It will probably be rusted in & you'll need a good puller. If you don't have one, stuff wet newspaper in the pilot hole then us a same-size brass drift to pound it out (it works!). Apply PB Blaster (WalMart) liberally before you start on any rusted bolt/part.

Follow the FSM torque specs for everything, especially the clutch housing.

What clutch did you get?
