i usually change my blades every four months. But i still have the stock wipers for almost a year. the winter has been pretty tame so no ice on windshield to deal with. Did you just get refills or did you have to buy tthe whole assembly?

Take a look at the new Trico Innovision blades -- I just put a set of these on my Tacoma and have been using them on my Durango for a little over a year now. They don't have the bulky blade frame -- they are made to mold/bend directly to the windshield. It rained here pretty hard last week and I noticed great performance after replacing the stock wiper blades.

That sounds like the begining of a great Haiku!

Those Bosch Micro's are awesome. It's amazing how much difference a small detail like that can make.

A good set of blades PLUS rain-x works wonders!! I re-apply rain-x every few weeks and it does a good job of keeping the windshield clear. I have noticed though after a few days of driving up in the mountains where my blades are clearing off sand/slush kicked up from the cars in front of me, plus using the winter blend of winshield washer fluid with de-icing additives that the rain-x treatments wears off much faster.
i've ridden in cars in the rain whose owners don't give a crap about their windshields and always notice how much harder it is to see out.

I too like RainX, but don't go to the trouble of periodically applying to my windshield since I discovered the RainX "bug juice".
It's ~$3/gallon, and I pick it up at Wal-Mart. Now my windshield gets a nice coat of RainX everytime I use the windshield squirter. No muss, no fuss...
See http://www.rainx.com/DU/products/Pro4_2_bugRemover.htm for addt'l info on the bug juice, and http://www.rainx.com/DU/products/Pro4_1_allSeason.htm for info on RainX all-season w/de-icer.

WOW 3bucks a gallon for you...its only like $1.50 or so at my walmart and I buy it all the time. it works 50x better then putting actual rain x on there by hand

I've been trying to find the Rain-X "All Season" with de-icer blend here in CA; the only thing they have is the "bug remover" and "warmer weather" blends. It seems that Wal-Mart is the only chain that sells the Rain-X washer fluids. I talked to someone about the "All-Season" blend with de-icer and they said something about the contents and how it has stuff that's bad for the environment. (Figures- living in CA). I venture up into the mountains, particuarly during the winter for snowsports, so I have to get the stuff that won't freeze-up. In fact, the cold-weather blend of ANY washer fluid is only available in the mountain communities for this reason. I guess I can add the additive, but I'd rather just pour the whole gallon of the right stuff to begin with and forget about it.
